January Dinner

Our inaugural dinner for the Community Table monthly series was a dream come true. What started over an innocent cup of coffee between friends soon became a blossoming partnership.

So, how did we get here? We often become so entrenched in our daily lives and work that we forget to take pause and appreciate the world around us and the things that make us truly happy. Creating a beautiful space and a delicious meal for those in our community are the things that let us take a deep breath and feel… well, good.

We decided to start the series with our favorite foods to make and eat. Our own personal comfort foods.

The Menu

soup // butternut squash, coconut milk, red chili, cilantro

salad // little gem lettuce, pomegranate, asian pear, citrus

first // swordfish, garbanzo, garlic, swiss chard, tomato

second // lamb, pistachio, carrot, broccolini, cilantro, lemon

dessert // coconut semifreddo, lime, pistachio, mango

Winter is the season of citrus and we decided to lean in to the simplicity of its natural good looks. Dried orange wheels became tiny stained glass windows that hung above our guests. The aroma of grapefruit and blood orange filled the air, and its deep ember tones contrasted brightly against the matte black dinner ware. Textures of velvet and crystals played along side each course. The table was simple yet refined; seasonal, yet timeless.

We hope that this dinner series will continue to evolve; to bring people to together that may not have otherwise met. Please see some of our favorite moments from our first dinner below, taken by our new friend Diana Kapatos.
